About Us

Located near Atlanta, Georgia, Furyhaus is an emerging German Shepherd breeder dedicated to enhancing the breed through exceptional temperament, health, and conformation [of working lines]. Our mission is to hone the craft the ideal German Shepherd—a loyal, well-balanced family companion with the ability to relax at home, yet ready to excel with enthusiasm and drive in any challenge or activity. True to their heritage, German Shepherds are intelligent, versatile, and courageous dogs with a natural instinct to protect and serve, making them exceptional working partners and devoted household members. We also emphasize the importance of correct structure, as it is critical for the breed's physical longevity and ability to perform demanding tasks. While German Shepherds are not couch potatoes and thrive on mental and physical engagement, we believe they should also possess the mental stability and calmness to settle in both mind and spirit when at home with their families. We believe a well-bred German Shepherd should embody this balance, seamlessly transitioning between work and relaxation.

Health testing is paramount in responsible dog breeding, as it lays the foundation for producing healthy dogs that can thrive both physically and mentally throughout their lives. At Furyhaus, we are committed to prioritizing the well-being of our dogs and their future families by adhering to rigorous health testing standards. All of our breeding dogs undergo the full spectrum of OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) health testing, including hips, elbows, and genetic testing to ensure they are free from inheritable diseases. By doing so, we aim to reduce the risk of health issues and promote the longevity and vitality of our dogs.

Our dedication extends beyond health testing to the critical early development of our puppies. We implement scientifically-backed puppy-raising techniques such as Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) to enhance their neurological development and sensory capabilities. This also includes the Puppy Culture raising techniques- a training program designed specifically for puppies curated to give the best foundation possible. Raised inside our home, our puppies are exposed to a wide variety of sights, sounds, surfaces, and environments to build confidence and resilience. This early and thoughtful socialization ensures they grow into well-rounded dogs capable of excelling in a range of settings, from family homes to demanding working roles. We strive to lay the groundwork for our puppies to become not only physically sound but also mentally stable, ensuring they are equipped for a lifetime of success and companionship.

Meet The Breeder

Hi! I’m Mary, founder and owner of FuryHaus German Shepherds.
I currently live in North Georgia on a 6.5-acre property with my horses, mini donkey, two pigs, three goats, four dogs, and six cats. It’s a small farm full of life, laughter, and paw prints—a perfect place to raise the kind of well-rounded dogs I’m proud to produce.

I wasn’t always in Georgia. I was born in Romania and adopted by a loving family who gave me every opportunity to follow my heart—especially when it came to animals. While most of my family was tech-oriented, I was the odd one out, constantly drawn to nature, animals, and caregiving.

I began riding horses at just 3 years old and owned my first horse by 12. Early on, I learned how much responsibility goes into raising animals well—and I loved every bit of it. My experiences managing horse farms, working with livestock, and training animals from a young age laid the foundation for what would become my passion: raising exceptional German Shepherds with sound minds and strong structure.

FuryHaus began with one dog that changed everything..

While studying criminal justice at Kennesaw State University, I adopted my first German Shepherd, Caesar. He was meant to be a working companion—possibly for a future in K9 law enforcement—but he ended up becoming much more. Caesar was not only incredibly intelligent and driven; he became my service dog and my heart dog. He opened my eyes to what this breed is truly capable of when bred and raised with intention. Though I originally enrolled in a pre-vet program at Berry College, I quickly realized my interest leaned more toward animal behavior and temperament than clinical medicine. After college, I spent two years as a police officer, and while I valued that experience deeply, my calling was clearly with dogs—and more specifically, with preserving and improving the German Shepherd breed I had grown to love. I’ve now been immersed in the world of German Shepherds for nearly a decade now and my program was born out of a desire to raise dogs with clarity, courage, and character—dogs that can both work and settle, that are healthy in body and stable in mind. I focus on intentional pairings, early neurological development, proper structure, and temperament testing to ensure each puppy we raise is ready to thrive in the right home.

Whether our dogs go on to be sport prospects, service dogs, family guardians, or beloved pets, my goal is always the same: to provide them with the best possible foundation from the moment they’re born.

It’s not just a kennel—it’s a commitment to legacy.
